LABORAS Food

Besides its general LIMS functionality, LABORAS contains specialised quality control functionality for the food sector.

Shelf life
To monitor the shelf life or stability of your products you can use the “Shelf life module”: Analysis results can be registered per analysis day, together with the corresponding analysis date. The validity of the reference and tolerance values can also be set for each analysis day separately. Specific analysis schedules and work lists can also be used on behalf of the shelf life monitoring or stability studies.
Sampling plan
Companies producing specific products with a fixed frequency can use the “Sampling plan module” to use a corresponding frequency-based sample login.
Microbiological analyses
A number of tricks have been foreseen in the program to enter the results of microbiological analyses, in a way that allows a statistical evaluation of them. It is also possible to define follow-up analyses (eg; When Salmonella is positive, it is possible to plan automatically the serotyping). Results can also be entered as float values: eg. 1.2e5 (=120000).
Integration with other software
One of the key benefits identified by our customers is the ability to interface LABORAS with other software used within the company. Customers are increasingly interested in global implementations where LIMS are required to play a central role in the integration and distribution of reliable, quality-related laboratory information throughout the global enterprise. Among the benefits of data integration are the optimisation of processes, improvements in quality control and the more effective deployment of resources. These benefits result in increased product yields and accelerated product development, thereby increasing the value of the LIMS. Examples of integrations with different recipe management programs, ERP-systems and Process Controllers are described more in detail in the LABORAS brochure, which is available on request.
