EU labelling regulation for hazardous chemicals

In December 2008 the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union passed regulation 1272/2008 to protect workers, consumers and the environment from hazardous chemicals. The new regulation will go in full effect on the first of June, 2015. From that day on producers of hazardous chemicals will have to comply with new rules on classification, labelling & packaging of mixtures. The obligation to comply with the ever changing CLP requirements means the workload of affected producers is greatly increased.

Karel Vervaet, BESTMIX Development Manager at Adifo: “Adifo understands the core business of a premix supplier is not found in keeping up with regulatory restrictions and language barriers. We therefore decided to offer BESTMIX users the opportunity to enhance their profit-driven feed formulation tool with a CLP classification module. The extra module will guarantee full CLP compliancy at all times in Europe and provides real-time CLP calculation during optimization. The resulting CLP pictograms, H and P statements, etc. are stored with the formula and are printable on the label.  The new module is not limited to the European CLP standard, but also provides in the worldwide GHS standard. This partnership with LISAM is part of Adifo’s ecosystem of Partners strategy.”

Kristof Lecocq, Sales Manager at LISAM Systems: “As a market leader, partnerships are strategically important for us in our quest for continuous growth. They give us the opportunity to cooperate with specialists from different industries and to share their insights. With this partnership we gain access to the food and feed industry, which was until now more or less a blind spot in our customer portfolio. These companies are heavily impacted by the June 2015 GHS deadline and we are pleased that we can offer them, together with a strong partner such as Adifo, a solution so that they can remain focussed on their number one priority."
